Reportedly Regina Holloman, 32, was at home with her mother Mary Lou Holloman when her 45 year old boyfriend Bruce Thomas walked in. Reportedly Thomas was highly intoxicated. Allegedly a disagreement began “She said when he came home he was drinking and started arguing with her and pulled out a gun.”

Mary Lou Holloman called for help, and Regina Holloman hid in a closet. Allegedly Bruce Thomas shot Regina Holloman several times in the chest. On his way out the door, he shot Mary Lou Holloman once.

Reportedly when deputies arrived, an officer picked up a picture and Regina Holloman indicated that it was a picture of Bruce Holloman and that he was the one who shot her.

Both Holloman’s were airlifted to the hospital, where Regina Holloman later died. Regina Holloman’s 2 or 3 year old nephew was in the home at the time of the shooting and was not physically harmed, though it has been said he witnessed the entire incident. Bruce Thomas had fled the scene by the time officers arrived at the home. But he later turned himself in to the sheriff’s department early Fri., and deputies say he has admitted to the shooting. Regina Holloman told officers that Thomas began arguing with her, and that is likely true.

But it brings up a point. People who are drinking can be very argumentive. Yet arguing with them is almost pointless, as most drunks will not change their minds, and they just won’t get the point. So arguing with them while they are still drunk is pretty useless.

And because alcohol lowers inhibitions, it can be dangerous. If displeased with the drunk person, wait until they have sobered before talking with them about their drinking.
