Together

Some couples cannot seem to get along together. Constant fighting, domestic violence, disagreements, unfaithfulness you name it, it happens.

But some couples just seem right. The stay together through thick and thin. The argue and love and truly live the marriage vows. They cry together and share life together. And everyone knows it.

This is the story of one couple. Shirley Oliver was a mother and a homemaker. She was 66 years old and suffered from diabetes, heart disease, lung disease and crippling rheumatoid arthritis in her joints. She was in the hospital and they were looking for a nursing home for her. She wouldn't be returning home. Wayne Oliver was her husband. He was 76. He had worked as a carpenter and had hurt his back years ago. After carpentry became impossible, he became a minister. Though he had had 6 surgeries on his back, he continued to have pain, and was unable to stand for long. During his wife's hospitalization, he was constantly at his wife's bedside, leaving only to go home, get the mail, clean up and return to the hospital.

A nurse found them. Both in the same hospital bed, together. Both had died of gunshot wounds. They left notes for their children. Telling them how much they loved them.
