This time it was the Grandmother

Brian Corbin arrived home and found his wife lying on the floor. He bent over her to check what the problem was and he was shot in the back. His 68 year old grandmother-in-law was weilding the gun. Corbin managed to get the gun from her, and he managed to call police. But while he was doing so, Gertrude Simpkins fled the scene. She crashed her car in a field, and was arrested. Brian Corbin is in the hospital. Simpkins grandaughter, 26 year old Amanda Corbin was pronounced dead at the scene. No motive for the crime has been determined.

I read about this this morning. So tragic. I wonder what the the motive was?
I’ve noticed that there has been quite alot of severe family violence / murders happening here in Ohio the last several months… or atleast more of it being reported on in the news. Even just in the last 2 weeks or so there has been several things happen. Horrible! I know these things happen everywhere, but to have so much of it in such a short time in my own “back yard”, is a bit distressing.

    Hi, MissLisa and welcome
Yes, it is horrible. Can you imagine what these families are going through? Not only the tragic loss of Amanda, but that she was killed by her grandmother. And their grandmother is going to go to trial. Corbin’s family will be mourning the loss of a daughter-in-law, worrying about a relative in the hospital, and there will also be a financial burden for him.
I have no anwers as I don’t really understand why these things happen.
